The Spiritual Arts was established by Artist Saziv Shakya in 2006. We are Newar from Kathmandu valley. We have had many bases but are now physically “sited” overlooking the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Boudha Stupa in Kathmandu.

Our gallery exhibits traditional contemporary Paubha and Thangka paintings and Sculptures of the Buddhist deities used by all practitioners to assist them with 'devotional activities'. The Paubha / Thangka have always been used to enhance the practices of Buddhist fraternity. As an aid for meditative applications. All our artists are 'mature' and degrees of status within their specialist areas. We have a close working relationship with all our artists (male and female). And try to ensure they follow accepted professional ethics. We are 'open' 7 days a week, but appointments can be arranged, for clients, so we have on hand art work within your subject and price 'limits'.

One of our major objectives is to promote lesser known Newari artists.  So as to actively enhance the culture's future. As more globalisation happens, diluting specialist minorities, unless there's active promotion, it will die and a major strength will fade away. Historically, the Paubha / Thangka painting goes back almost 1400 years and has been dominant in Tibetan Buddhist traditions. All styles have been orally transmitted from master to student. In order to help in the process, we run voluntary workshops and exhibition to continue the 'trend'.

Please visit us to see our work and suggest ways we can be more accessible. We open 7 days a week 11am to 8pm, all suggestions will be heard.

Please contact me for an appointment.
